	The Public Interest Disclosure Bill, introduced by Richard Shepherd MP and supported by the government, had its committee stage on 11 March 1998.
	Consultation paper on the bill
	This consultation paper on the bill was issued by Public Concern at Work on behalf of Mr Shepherd in December 1997. It contains statements of support for the Bill and a description of how the bill works in practice. It also raises some issues on which Mr Shepherd wished to consult interested parties, notably on the compensation for dismissal.
