Dear Mr Leppert,

This is a request under the Code of Practice on Access to Government Information, which I am directing to you as the DETR's 'openness contact'. I would be grateful if you could refer it to the appropriate person within the department.

Could I please be supplied with (a) the names of all staff currently working in the DETR on secondment from bodies outside of central government (b) the names of the body from which each has come and (c) brief details of their responsibilities.

Following a similar request which I made to the DTI some months ago, I understand (see the enclosed letter) that it is now government policy that such information should be released.

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST

Further to my telephone conversation with your office last week, please find enclosed the details that we currently have available on secondments into the Department. (DETR; Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions as was.)

This includes as many of the posts as possible that we know of centrally, and that conform to secondment terms. We have sought the permission of the individuals concerned to release this information.

DETAILS OF THOSE GIVING CONSENT TO HAVE THEIR RECORDS RELEASED

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST

Further to our telephone conversation last week, I am writing to confirm the following remaining data. I have checked the list provided in my previous letter against our main database and find there are two companies not listed, from where we have secondees into the Department.

1) Leicester City Council
2) Railtrack

I do not know which of these two objected to the information being released. One of the secondments (the former) has now come to an end.
